This article applies only to members in New York, Maryland, and DC that are enrolled in Community Solar.
If you have budget billing with your utility, it can take up to 3 months to adjust budget billing amounts to properly reflect community solar savings. During this 3 month period, the solar portion of your bill that is allocated towards the maintenance and development of the project will be added on top of your normal budget billing amount and reflected on the statement we send you. For customers that do not have budget billing, this amount is calculated into your actual charges so that you can clearly see savings.
Arcadia Power members with budget billing have a couple options to consider before connecting to a community solar project.
- Recommended: The first option is to cancel your budget billing plan. Canceling your budget billing plan will ensure you start to see savings on your statement right away. After the project has been producing power for 3 months you can turn budget billing back on. At that point your utility statement will correctly reflect your solar savings.
- Your other option is to remain on your existing budget bill plan while you connect to the community solar project. This will result in an increase in your Arcadia Power statement for 3 months but will also generate a credit on your utility account that will result in savings at the time of your budget billing true up.
