This article applies only to members in Illinois, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, and DC that are enrolled in Community Solar.
If you have budget billing with your utility, it can take several months for your utility to adjust your budget billing amount to properly reflect community solar savings. Regardless, the solar portion of your bill that is allocated towards the maintenance and development of the project will be added on top of your normal budget billing amount and reflected on the statement we send you. For members that do not have budget billing, this amount is calculated into your actual charges so that you can clearly see savings.
The best option is to cancel your budget billing plan. Canceling your budget billing plan will ensure you start to see savings on your statement right away. Please be aware, canceling budget billing with your utility may result in an additional credit or charge on your next month's utility bill depending on your actual energy charges while you've been enrolled in budget billing.
